A Note from Aly
I completed half of my wedding album when I first started scrapbooking about 14 years ago. You think I’m a simple scrapper now, you should see my wedding album—all cardstock, die cuts, everything matted, typed journaling blocks with funky curly fonts. I don’t really want to re-do it because I believe part of the joy of scrapbooking is to see how your style and priorities change over the years. I do want to finish my album though, so I’m trying to incorporate a bit of my current style while keeping some sense of unity throughout the album.
So, on this page you’ll see some old stuff (8.5x11 size, smooth navy cardstock, patterned vellum, old MM velvet saying sticker) together with some new things (new AC paper and stamp, new border punch, and new Echo Park Stickers). Plus I added a fairly current technique of pleating and sewing a ribbon border.
The evening of the day we got married, we had a small reception for close friends and family in Utah at Derek’s sister, Teresa’s house in Elk Ridge, Utah. We greeted guests, ate finger foods and cake, and Derek and I sang “I Promise” once again.
July Fun Fact
We’ve got two family reunions this summer—one in Palm Dessert, CA, and one in Yellowstone National Park. Wahoo!
