A Note from Sarah
I’m experimenting with portrait photography, and I love this shot because it’s so authentic – messy hair and face, gripping a chocolate cookie! I created a messy free-form background using water colour crayons – a much under-used supply of mine.
When I look at this picture, I see rainbow paint in your hair from yesterday’s birthday party. I see two messy piggies that didn’t get brushed today. I see sparkly blue eyes reflecting the inner joy of being with family. I see a chocolate cookie crumb face. I see a gap-toothed smile. I see a skinned knee, perhaps from an earlier bike-riding misadventure. I see my beautiful, free-spirited, relaxed, happy, loving six year old daughter. I see you growing, and I’m loving every minute of it.
July Fun Fact
I’ve recently gotten into bird-watching. I know this makes me a big nerd, but I could spend hours sitting my backyard watching birds come and go from our feeders!
