A Note From Angie
Back-to-school season always brings back strong feelings of nostalgia for me. I pulled a couple of photos from the recent past (just 4-5 years ago), back when Jeremy was still young enough to want his parents standing on the sidewalk waving and smiling as he walked into the school for the momentous first day of each new grade. These pictures reminded me just how active and involved my husband has always been in Jeremy's education, so that's the angle I took with my journaling. And, going along with this month's education theme, I also decided to try a technique I've never attempted on a layout: machine stitching. I love how it looks, but it's such a pain to pull out my sewing machine and set it up that I've never bothered to try stitching on paper before now. I had my sewing machine out for another project, so I figured it was a great time to try something new!
"Whenever I try to recall that long-ago first day of school, only one memory shines through: my father held my hand."
From dropping everything to be there for every first day of school and every school program to teaching Meet the Masters art classes in 2nd and 4th grades, Travis has always been there.
