A Note from Celeste
Normally, I would never think to make a mini-album. When presented with the theme for this month's gallery, I decided to take one event and make a little album about it. I chose a 7 Gypsies 5x7 ring album for the base of my mini-album. I decided to print all of my photos 5x7 portrait. My photos aren't stellar from this trip to New York City and to make matters worse I had them printed at Walgreen's so the print quality is not great either. However, the boys love this little album and have spent a great deal of time looking through it.
I used an older Studio Calico kit—Continental—that I had lying around. I also had a couple of the add-ons. I went through my stash and grabbed some graph/lined background papers, some travel themed items and a handful of manila tags. I decided on a simple scheme to use throughout my album. The cover is one 5 x 7 image with a piece of acrylic from Hambly Studios on top. Each set of pages has a 5 x 7 photograph with a little strip of paper and a label for a title. The opposite side is covered with patterned paper and embellished with one small manila tag for journaling and a grouping of embellishments. If I had ephemera, I added it. The whole album was completed in six hours at a crop. I feel like I did a pretty good job documenting our trip and I didn't have to do a dozen layouts to do it!
