A Note from Monika

As soon as I knew the topic for this month, the photo and this story came to mind immediately. As for the layout of the page, that took me a little while longer. I had the photo, selected papers, printed journaling and letter stickers staring at me for two weeks. Two weeks! It taunted me...just laying on my craft desk. Unfinished. Looking at it now, the rounded corners, the journal spot, the heart punch, and the sewn journal lines all came together in about five minutes. So, after two long weeks and five short minutes, I successfully completed my first page for the Write.Click.Scrapbook. gallery.

P.S. And, maybe, just maybe, the fact that I got a little weepy every time I looked at the page didn’t help me get anything accomplished. Knowing that my boy is heading off on his own soon made it just a little bit harder to focus.

Journaling

One year. 365 days.

I distinctly remember, while taking this photo last year, “Wow. In a year from now, Zach will be getting ready to graduate.”

And here we are. And it’s a year from then. And those days have come and gone. And this Graduation will soon be just a memory on the way to your next Graduation.

And that, too, will be here before we know it.

I thought it odd when people used the phrase, “Time Flies.” And now that I am older...I am a believer. And you will be.

One day.

But until then, you have a whole lot of dreaming and seeing and learning and doing and exploring and being and living before you’re a believer, too.

Love, Mom

June Fun Fact

A mini-mommy-breakdown was narrowly averted in our household when I learned that our youngest missed the kindergarten age requirement by six weeks. How could I have handled sending my first baby to college and my last baby to kindergarten in the same month?
