Living in a historical town has its perks. We can just stop outside out door to get a flavor of Colonial history. In April Bedford gets ready for Patriots Day by holding a pole capping ceremony. We watch the Minutemen companies from all around parade through the town. The highlight of the day is the Pole Capping ceremony where one Minuteman places a knitted red cap on top of a 25-foot pole. The red cap symbolizes liberty from British rule and we all cheer the brave Minutemen and of course book the British troops that capture them!
