Valerie O'Neall

Generally I feel as if I am still 27—only two years off.

Favorite book/movie/music: I recently read the Hunger Games series. I read each book in a day (…I had no idea I could even do that!)
Favorite music changes all the time. My Anchor Holds (my amazingly talented sister-in-law & brother-in-law), David Cook, & Mat Kearney are some of my favorites.
And movies—I love romantic comedies. How to Lose a Guy in a 10 Days, SweetHome Alabama, & The Proposal are the ones that can’t be topped.

During my life, I have lived in three states. I was born and raised in Illinois, went to college in Missouri, spent my first year of marriage in Florida, and have now been back in Illinois for about 6 years.

Some of the most defining moments of my life were in the gym. It was on the volleyball court where I first found something I excelled at & enjoyed. It grew my confidence, taught me leadership & teamwork, & placed some cherished people in my life. …And of course becoming a mom changed me, but that’s the easy answer everyone says.

My camera is a Nikon D50, which can be considered ancient as far as DSLRs are concerned. It’s been good to me, and I just can’t find a good enough reason to replace it.

When I scrapbook I must have my sewing machine & white or kraft cardstock.

Though I began scrapbooking in 1997 at the age of fourteen, I don't think I found my groove until last year, and I still struggle with defining my style. I feel like I have multiple personalities when it comes to scrapbooking. Sometimes I want mixed media, and sometimes I just want clean and simple.

My favorite scrapbooking colors …..that’s a tough one. My color choice is highly dependent on what photos I’m using.

You might notice that many of my pages include white or kraft cardstock and stitching.

Valerie is the wife of a farmer & mom to one (but prayerfully more at any moment, as she and herhusband recently received their foster care license)! If you would have told her in high school she’d marry a farmer and live in the country, she would have thought you were crazy! She is a stay-at-home mom who enjoys the challenge of an occasional freelance design project and takes pride in her self-taught cooking and baking skills. She’s been scrapbooking since the age of fourteen, but didn’t really start taking it seriously until she got married in 2004. Her husband was thrilled to see layouts of their adorable dog cease after their son was born.
