She had to approve the outfit I wore. She asked me to keep a low profile. When I teased that I might like to raise my hand in class she looked mortified and said, “Please Mom, don’t embarrass me!” But as we walked back to the car at the end of the school day she said, “Thanks Mom, you were great.
