A Note From Monika
(front)Browsing through my photo archives, I noticed this photo that I had forgotten to include in my Self-Portrait-A-Day project during the week Emily Pitts hosted. And what a self-portrait it is. My husband dearly loves homemade, sweet treats so I am often seen mixing up favorite recipes at this mixer. I don’t remember what recipe I was making, so inside the kraft envelope, I included a recipe for chocolate oatmeal cookies that our family gobbles up!
I very rarely use products from just one company exclusively on a layout, but I did for this one. The journaling cards were originally rectangular and I fussy cut around them to add a bit off interest and used pop dots behind them. I also used a running stitch around the envelope for fun.
(back)I decided to use the back to include a print of the collage since I didn’t know the next time I would scrap 6x12 and I hated to leave it blank. My decision to use this size was inspired by team member Jody Dent-Pruks (she did a 6x12 last month).
August Fun Fact
I love me some homegrown ‘mater and mayo sandwiches!
