Hi there! Let’s start
with introductions…I’m Katrina Simeck. I’m thrilled (and totally nervous) to be
writing the blog this week. This week is going to be brought to you by the
letter “W”…
I come from a family of writers…my mother, grandmother, great-grandmother…all writers. I’ve enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. My Mom still has copies of stories that I wrote in elementary school. In the 6th grade, I wrote a “novel” for an English assignment (it reads a lot like a Fame storyline). My first-ever scrapbook (circa 1983, in a magnetic photo album…yikes!) contains a page of journaling for every page of photos. When I was 17, my grandmother used one of my poems in her newspaper column. Through high school, I wrote debate cases & speeches (and countless notes to my bff, Stacy). Now, I write emails, blog entries, lists, letters, facebook statuses, tweets…I write on post it notes, in idea books, and on scrapbook layouts, . With all that writing going on, it always surprises me when scrapbookers say…
“I don’t know what to
write.”
Who
This is probably my favorite W for scrapbooking. It’s a great prompt for journaling & page ideas…
*who are you? (please
tell me that you scrapbook about yourself! It’s a necessity!)
*who is your family?
*who are your
friends?
*who do you love?
*who do you want to
be?
A few examples for you...
This layout captures little details that help define who I am right now.
This layout describes who is in my family.
This layout celebrates the circle of women who are my closet friends.
Today’s challenge – tell me WHO you are (in the comments) and/or show me a layout that focuses on WHO (and remember, that “who” can really be
anyone…even YOU!). Can't wait to see your work in the Flickr gallery!
