Welcome to November! As the costumes get put away, the candy consumed, and the decorations change from spiders to turkeys, we enter the month of Thanksgiving.
And while we will take photos of the bird (or not!), and gather round a table for many, or just a few, we will all be relishing in the beauty of that worldwide institution of family.
Families. Big. Small. Far away. Near. Genetics. Proximity. Love. However you define your family, one thing is clear, it is a place, our place, to belong. And for those of us who love to record our histories, one of the ties that binds is the stories. The "Can you believe...'s" and the "Remember when...'s." Some of these stories escape our immediate recall, while some have been burned into the family folklore archives, never to be forgotten (or let go).
This month while we celebrate and remember to be thankful for all that we have, our Write. Click. Scrapbook. family wanted to celebrate our own family stories. We hope you enjoy a remarkable gallery. Be forewarned, you may laugh, you may cry, you may want to be adopted into one of them, and you surely will feel your family isn't the only crazy one out there!
Join us in celebrating our families. Their beginnings. Their additions, both human, and furry. Our likenesses. Our differences. Let's remember the things we've said, the things we've done, the places we've gone, the things we have worn. We celebrate the daily things, the defining things. Whether you have heard the story an hundred times, or plan to tell it a hundred more, this month, let's record it. Let's honor our family recipes. Family traditions. Family histories. Family game time, and together time. Family-isms. Family phrases. Family activities. We commemorate moments that changed the course of history, and moments that, while uneventful, stay long remembered. We are storytellers. And memory keepers. Come learn about us, let us spark your memories, as we try to inspire you to celebrate your families, too.
