Good Saturday morning! I wanted to round out the week with a look at some decor and other baby themed altered items.
One of the cool things about scrapbooking supplies is that you can use them for many other things. Even if you're not the queen of altering (and I'm not), they can come in handy for simple personalised projects. Because Kieran's first nursery was tiny, and because of budget constraints, I wanted to add some personal homemade touches, as there wasn't much we could do with the space we had.
The first project I made before he even came was this clipboard, an attempt to keep me organised and on track.
It's where I kept all my lists of what we needed to get to prepare his arrival. I'd carry it with me when we went shopping to make sure that we were getting what we needed, plus not being tempted to buy all the cute baby stuff we saw!
For his room I made this ribbon frame: lengths of ribbon wrapped around canvas board and stapled to the back.
I used my Making Memories Slice to cut the shapes and word out of patterned paper.
On a roll with the Slice I then made this shadow box house
At the time we weren't sharing his name, but it should say Kieran there! Now that he has a real room it will go on his door.
This piece is really a sewing project, but since I used my Thickers felt letters I feel justified in posting it on a scrapbooking blog.
Aly came up with a clever way to sort and store all the little things a new babe needs
I love the personalised nature of the categories!
When Kieran was about five months old I did my first clearing out of his too small items, and realised that there were a few things I wanted to hold on to! I used a box that a gift came in to create this keepsake.
Finally, I wanted to keep all the congratulatory cards we received in a way that didn't create clutter. The Bind-it-All came in handy for that
I used the bingo card to create a pocket for keeping the written notes we received.
Have you created any baby themed decor or other altered projects? Share them in the flickr group! With a new nursery to decorate since we moved I am always looking for ideas!
It's been a blast being here this week, sharing my new favourite scrapbooking topic. I loved all the feedback and am glad that you were able to find some inspiration from my posts.
Dont forget that our Spring Cleaning Week starts Monday! So be sure to come on by!
