Our Hometowns. This topic won the fan vote to be our topic for July. And what a fun topic indeed. No matter where we grew up, our memories have been shaped by the places we have lived. And as grownups (yes, we are talking to you! teehee!) we continue to be influenced by our surroundings.
Our challenge to you this month is to scrapbook your hometown. What place that is exactly may be up for debate, but whatever you choose, take a few moments and preserve those memories. We hope that our gallery will inspire you to look at your hometowns differently, or at least more carefully, so that you can give them a prominent page in your book of memories.
But that's not all. Today isn't just launch day, it is also Canada Day (hooray!) and last but never least, it's
And we have a little something from our favorite Studio Calico, just for you!
Studio Calico is generously providing a chance to take home their brand new kit, Continental. Cool ocean blues, sunflower yellows and muted reds combine to inspire soothing, sophisticated, and timely summer layouts. With Lewis & Clark and LaSalle add-ons still available, you can extend your creativity and your kit! Together with the main kit, you will be able to (re)create pages such as these (examples provided by the Studio Calico Design Team).
You may see more Continental goodness in the sneaks and on the Studio Calico blog.
You don't want to miss out on this grand adventure. Chart your course for summer travel page success by leaving us a comment recounting a summer adventure that hasn't yet made it in your scrapbook. As usual, I will go first to break the ice...
When I was little, we were one of the first houses on our block. This meant many summers of construction (Canadian winters are much too cold for homebuilding!!) One of my fondest memories include climbing in and around in-progress homes. We would daringly walk planks over "raging seas," climb "mountains," and mine "coal." Hours and hours were spent discovering new lands and far off places. All within an half block of my own home.
Comments will remain open until 8:00 pm PST and one lucky number will be drawn at random and posted tomorrow. Please remember to check back to see if yours was the lucky number before the clock strikes midnight on Saturday!
