Happy Saturday to you!
What are your plans for the day? Mine involve a festive Halloween brunch at a restored-Pioneer-village-turned-shopping-village (sounds weird but it is so cute and quaint), and a bunch of lounging in the gorgeous autumn sunshine. A perfect day for playing in the leaves!
Not a great photo, but this is an amazing house of pumpkins!
If you are going to sneak in a bit of scrapping or crafting, here are some thoughts, projects and tips for you:
I have a two-year-old's room to redecorate (he's in a "big boy" bed!) and I'm seriously considering this family tree idea from Martha Stewart. Wouldn't it be fun to make?
How about gathing the gang to make some spooky tree paintings?
And I absolutely love this pumpkin artwork.
I also found this great project that would be perfect for using up paper scraps.
I have made Christmas ornaments using the same technique, but what fun for autumn! Find the directions here.
I couldn't leave this week without a bit of a gift for you, so I wanted to include some great quotes for pages that are nature-inspired. Enjoy!
"In all things of nature there is something of the marvellous." Aristotle
"The goal of life is living in agreement with nature." Zeno (335-263 bc)
"Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher." William Wordsworth
"Live each season as it passes." Thoreau
"Those who dwell...among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life." Rachel Carson, author and environmentalist
"Spring is showery, flowery, bowery.
Summer: hoppy, choppy, poppy.
Autumn: wheezy, sneezy, freezy.
Winter: slippy, drippy, nippy."
-anonymous poet
Have a great weekend! Thanks for having me this week!
