First, thank you for all your kind comments on Friday! We had such a fun time celebrating our birthday with you!
Do you like the new look of our site? Clean, bright, and hopefully welcoming!
Welcome to the first day of summertime dailies! Today marks the first day in our three month summer vacation where we switch hostesses each and every day!
Summer doesn't officially begin around here until Friday. This is the week that I try to finish off all the school year memory keeping, as the minute that final school bell rings, we will dash into vacation mode, all brain power will be lost, and the details might be forgotten.
Poppy brought home the sweetest handout on Friday. It began with this poem,
I started in August
so cute and so small.
And through the months
I’ve grown so tall.
Look at these pictures
and you will see
how much I’ve grown up...
pictures of ME!
It asked about favorites and photos (though Poppy drew pictures instead, which makes it all the more lovely in a different way!), simply recapping some favorites and details of her first grade year.
The minute I saw it, I knew it would make a fun mini-album celebrating all things first grade. All it needed was a bit of patterned paper, and some room for the photos. I realized that I don't have all the photos I need, so today, you might have to use your imagination to see how it will look when finished. (Or stop by my little bloggityblog in a couple of days as I will get those pictures taken asap!)
Here is the album awaiting journaling and photos:
I am going to print it out and have a pen all ready for Poppy to be able to fill it out! And tomorrow, I will sneak to the school and get a picture of the room, and her teacher. Then this book will be done! and I will turn my sights to year end teacher gifts!! Target has some strawberry plates that inspired me...
Thank you for stopping!!! I hope you will take a minute and finish off some details about the school year before they are lost for you, too! I hope your children had a great year, and that your summers are off to a terrific start! I will see you back in a couple of weeks!
Here's hoping your summer is filled with laughter, memories, and piles and piles of photos!!
