Happy Friday! Don't forget to enter the giveaway from yesterday for a pack of crochet embellishments. I've really been enjoying hosting this week, and I am re-inspired to try some different things on my pages. I hope you are too.
I have been sewing on my pages for a while, it's not a new thing in scrapbooking, but it's not something I do all the time. Mainly because of having to get my sewing machine out of the closet and get it set up. So I changed that by reorganising my room so that I have an area dedicated to sewing, and now I stitch on pages a lot more. My machine for paper is actually under the table, but it's easy to get it ready to go.
Sewing adds such great texture to paper, but without a lot of bulk. You can also sticth on embellishments and then add to your page like Amy did here.
That's a great title, and looking at it does make me feel warm!
Stitching can work both as a decorative element, and as a way to adhere things to your page
When stitching over chipboard like I did, I advise going very slowly to make sure you don't break your needle.
Here are two more pages where I machine stitched, but I also used stitched embellishments: the yoyos
They weren't made by me though, it's a pre-made embellishment, but if you want to make your own, here's a great tutorial by Heather Bailey. Laura used some stitched felt trees on her card below that are also pre-made embellishments.
and I used these layered flowers with stitching
So, do you think you'll try stitching on your pages?
Thanks for joining me here this week. I had a blast.
