Hello everyone! Francine here with you this week. In the last couple years or so, I have been working on other types of crafts and hobbies besides scrapbooking. Most recently crochet and knitting, but I also dabble in sewing, and a bit of painting. Looking through my layouts recently I realised that I do incoroprate some of these other crafts in my pages, and thought that would be a fun topic for a week here at write. click. scrapbook. So if, like me, you love other kinds of crafts, sit back and enjoy as I share lots of examples!
First off, today & tomorrow we will talk about using watercolours on pages. This is a very popular way to get artsy, and is great for creating unique and customised backgrounds.
On this page, I wanted to create a background that remined me of the ocean. To do this, I simply painted in broad blue strokes across my cardstock.
Amy used a similar idea on her layout for a light pink background.
How about using just a block of colour? Here, Lisa made a journaling block that pops!
And Amy used a few different colours as a photo mat.
In this page Amy made a journaling block too, but here she combined three colours.
I love that idea!
If you already do watercolour painting, have you thought about transferring that skill to your pages? If you haven't yet tried out watercolours, here a few tutorials to help you get started.
Check back in tomorrow, when I'll share even more ideas for using watercolours on your projects.
