Generally I feel as if I am my age, which right now is 37. So far, I have liked what every age has to offer. I hope to keep feeling that way.
I like anything written by Neil Gaiman, though Coraline had a really nice, simple style that made it really creepy. I love that, so if I had to choose one favorite, I would go for that one.
As for movies, I do love a good Tim Burton movie. Pee Wee's Big Adventure brings back lots of childhood memories, and is still funny today. And, I adore his version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
My current music favorite is Green Day.
During my life I have lived in Massachusetts and New York City. That is all.
One of the defining moments of my life, I think was when I started scrapbooking. It became a creative outlet that I had been looking for for a long time. I don't think I've been bored since.
My camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T3.
When I scrapbook I need to start with a relatively clean desk, even if I just pull everything out again moments later. But it is never a spotless desk.
My favorite scrapbooking colors are usually neutral. I often start with a black, white, gray, kraft, or brown cardstock. To me, all the other pretty colors look better next to a neutral. Since I have boys, I do get a little excited whenever I find a way to use pink.
You might notice that many of my pages include humor. I think my family here is pretty funny and not that sentimental, so I try to reflect that in my pages. It took a while, though, to figure out how to do that.
I live in New York with my husband and two boys, who are 10 and 14. I teach preschool, which I love even more now that my own children are past that stage. It’s nice to be with sweet, adorable, little kids during the work day, and come home to my older, more independent, clever and funny kids. All my time not spent working, with family, or cleaning is spent scrapbooking or thinking about scrapbooking in some manner, shape, or form. It helps me tremendously that my husband does most of the cooking.
