It's Jennifer Larson again, sharing another idea for using up kit scraps, specifically using up strips of paper.
I love using those strips that come at the bottom of patterned paper--I call myself a stripper because I love them so. Still, I always end up with several left over, including some thin strips of patterned paper. That was the case with the October kit of Scrapbook Circle that I have almost used up.
To make use of those strips, I pulled an idea I took from an older sketch from Simple Scrapper to make a sunburst. Specifically, I will make about a third of a sunburst along one side of the page. I lay the strips down and adhered them first:
Then I added a chunk of remaining patterned paper on top to hide the strip ends and I finished the page. Here it is:
Again, I added stitching because it's the bomb, and also to hold down the paper on top of the starburst center. Here's a close up:
