Generally I feel as if I am 35 years old, but I am nowhere near that age.
My favorite movie is You've Got Mail.
My favorite song is Check Yes or No by George Strait. I often think about how fun it would have been to meet my husband back in those carefree days of the third grade.
During my life, I have lived in two countries, four states, and fifteen cities and have called twenty different houses and apartments home. Because of this life I've lived, and I loved it all while living it, I am comforted by the fact that I've been in the same home for twelve years. That's my longest streak in one place. And more than likely, it will be the last place on Earth that I'll ever call home.
One of the most defining moments of my life came twelve years ago when I married the man who turned me into the best version of me and became a loving and guiding force in the life of my then six-year-old son.
My camera is a Canon 40D and I haven't found a favorite lens yet. I use a 50mm 1.8 and a 28-135mm kit lens, but I wouldn't call it love.
When I scrapbook, I really appreciate silence.
Though I began scrapbooking in 2007, I don't think I found my groove until 2009.
My favorite scrapbooking colors do not include purple, violet or lilac, even though I have done layouts in those colors. I see infinite goodness in all other color combinations, though.
You probably wouldn't notice that I sometimes create three similar versions of the same page for each of my kids' three albums. The stories will have a different perspective, perhaps there will be different photos and the embellishments may vary, but the vibe is the same, just a different flavor.
Even though she's always loved crafting handmade cards and gifts, it wasn't until a dear friend of 33 years gave her some scrapbooking supplies for a birthday gift that Monika began documenting and recording all the stories and memories that she had been holding close to her heart. Soon after, her husband surprised her with a Canon 40D and that's when things started getting serious! Now that she's seen the light, you will find Monika creating in her combination scrap/computer/laundry room pretending to her husband and three children to be doing much more laundry and ironing that is actually being accomplished. That's when her three children aren't asking questions, using her markers, sneaking pretty paper or stealing her glue sticks. Her work has been featured on the blogs of Ali Edwards, SEI and Colorbök.
