A Note from Amy
I used one of the pictures from the Write. Click. Scrapbook. post I did back in July about taking photos of shadows. I love that the picture had so much empty (green) space and thought it the perfect spot for the title strips. I discovered something new when I made this layout: my photo processor makes 4x8 and 6x8 prints. This is probably only news to most of the world, but I hadn’t discovered it yet. Having new sizes of pictures to work with makes me happy!

Journaling
One of my clearest and happiest childhood memories is of being pushed on the swing by my grandma. She'd sing this little song to me, over and over, and didn't stop pushing until I wanted to get down. I confess: I still love swinging! There's something so joyful about falling back and forth through the air, your perspective changing from green grass to blue sky to green grass, and that little thrill in your belly. This fall, you and I have spent a lot of time together outside, me pushing and you swinging and both of us singing my grandma's little jingle. “You should teach him how to pump the swing,” a friendly woman told me one day at the park. But, you know . . . once you can pump, we'll spend less time together. Maybe next spring. For now, I'm happy to keep pushing you.
