A Note from Amy
I love the 80s...but not in the way most people did. I mean, I went through a short phase of Madonna impersonation, I had a pair of jelly shoes, and I owned some fluorescent-pink Units stretch pants. But for most of my teenage years I was dressed in black and punked out. My best friend Chris was right there with me, but I've never documented anything about those years. When she shared the picture of us from 1989, though, I couldn't resist. I tried out a ton of different patterns and supplies for this layout, but nothing really seemed to fit the time period and the look I wanted. I'm happier with this clean, streamlined version!
Journaling
We’ve been friends since 1987 and we went through some pretty intense experiences together. We know all of each others’ old stories. When we are together we talk non-stop. And it’s a pretty good bet that eventually our conversation will turn backward, to when we were teenagers, the fun we had and the stuff we suffered through. We both still wear a lot of black. We know almost every obscure 80's music reference you can think of (but the top-40 crap will baffle us). There’s a pretty good chance you’ll find some Depeche Mode, some Cure, and some Alphaville in our playlists. And while we've tamed our curls & some of our attitude & mostly stepped into our proper adult roles, we both still have our little rebellions. And if you give us the chance we can both still rock some big, curly hair. (Albeit a little bit grey'er.)
January Fun Fact
I've been trying to get my hamstrings to feel better and let me go running since October. Alas, all that time off of exercising hasn't helped, so I'm envisioning a long month of many PT appointments to get this taken care of. I miss running!
