A Note from Aliza
Well, since I entered a new decade just days before the New Year, it was hard not to scrap about that.
Journaling
So here I am on the other side of 40. I had been feeling good about my upcoming birthday; Life is good, so what’s another number? In the last hour of 39, however, I felt a little pang of sadness that I will never be in my 30’s back again. I guess that’s life. Still it got me thinking all about “then and now.”
I started off my 30’s a (tired) mother of two little boys, and now I am just shy of having two teenagers. College is on the horizon for Max.
10 years ago, I had just begun to play with paper, and now-scrapbooking.
At 30, I was feeling restless at work. In my 30’s, I worked in construction, was laid off, did not work for a year, and then went back to teaching at BHS. I love it now.
My parents moved to Israel, and we spent 3 summers there, with a few more trips in between; some for fun and celebration, and 1 for health reasons.
When my 30’s were getting close to 40, I started to exercise, and have been doing it relatively consistently, because I want to keep feeling good and feeling strong for many decades to come.
January Fun Fact
I have been teaching at the same preschool for 9 (nonconsecutive) years. I taught K-2 for 6 years before that, but I don’t think I could ever go back to teaching grade school.
