8.5 x 11 hybrid | materials patterned papers (Black River Designs) + ribbon (Offray) + chipboard heart (Colorbok) + button & brad (The Paper Studio) + border punch (Fiskars) + digital word art (Katie Pertiet) + digital stitching (Natalie Malan) + font (Traveling Typewriter)

A Note From Aly

This is one of my “go to” designs—straight down the page. It works well to lead the eye through the most important elements: from the journaling, to the title, and down to the photo. I placed everything off center to create a little interest, and because that way the photo lands where the lines would intersect if the page were divided into a grid of thirds. Since this is a very linear page, I included a few rounder, softer elements for contrast: the red swirly patterned paper, the scalloped border, and the heart accent with the round button and brad. I also included a border with uniform margins and a little white space, which are both pleasing to the eye.
