A Note From Elizabeth

Concert posters are a great source of design inspiration for me—they’re always well-designed and a little unexpected. While I love very linear graphic design in print media, I think concert posters often have a bit more art and/or emotion built into them. I was inspired to make my page after seeing this Feist poster; it immediately reminded me of fall (even though the concert billing indicates July). I borrowed a bit of the feel of the design without duplicating it; I usually end up with something a lot farther away from the original design than I intend, but I’m glad about that most of the time. It proves that I’m absorbing inspiration but still making a page my own.

The leaves at the top of the page are salvaged from some leaf prints my daughters and I made last year from the leaves in our backyard. I just cut them out and adhered them!
