A Note From Melissa
The word “design” doesn’t have to be intimidating or complicated! This simple layout employs two design elements that are easy to incorporate.
The first one is uniform margins, which provide a solid visual foundation for a layout. I tend to like tweaking mine a bit, though, by adding some elements that are offset, like my title and the journaling spot in this layout. But you’ll notice that they’re equally offset so that the balance is maintained.
Another popular design principle is that it’s more visually pleasing to use an odd number of like-elements (photos, buttons, brads, etc.) than an even number. I followed this little rule with my flowers. I also use this principle when decorating my home. It’s a handy one, all right.
