A Note from Melissa

Though I’m an old soul and drawn to more muted vintage items for decorating my home, I love to use bright colors when scrapbooking. So I couldn’t resist making a page about this gorgeous plant in one my favorite colors. I also added in some blue (a complimentary color) and chose the color of my background cardstock to highlight the center of the flowers.

When the goal is to maintain attention on a certain part of a layout, a monochromatic approach with other elements can work well. By choosing to make the title the same color as the cardstock, I ensured it wouldn’t detract from the vibrant petals in the photo.
