A Note from Emily

This month’s theme Lift-A-Reader was EXACTLY what I needed. I couldn’t believe how quickly this layout fell together (once I found the correct color letter stickers, I admit that part took me a little to long, I was cropping at a store and I think I just wanted to purchase some new alphas. But I knew I had the perfect match at home, and I was right.). I loved kmj’s 1 layout because of all the open space and how she used the stitching across the top of the design. I thought that was brilliant. I also rarely rip my papers anymore and I wanted to change that. Doing a lift always helps me break out of my scrapping habits. The only changes I made were pulling everything in a bit closer, deleting the main journaling block (because I didn’t have as much to say), and making it a two-photo layout instead of a single.

Scraplifting is such an invigorating thing to do when you’re in a creative slump. I’ve already ripped paper on another layout I just started thanks to the freeing effect scraplifting kmj’s work was!
