A Note from Aliza
This layout tells a quick story from our summer vacation. I just wanted to record that day, and some little details that capture each family member’s experience.

I don’t recall the name of the park or the river where where Max and I rode by canoe, and Sam and Dave went by kayak. But we went there while spending the weekend in Barnwell State Park in South Carolina. This was a hardcore activity for us city Deutsches, and we were a little out of our league. We crashed into the river banks. A lot. We Got stuck in the mud a bit. But, eventually we got the hang of it. By the end, it was simply too much nature for Max. Sam was fine, helped along by the fact that Dave made sure to distract him from the pile of spiders that landed in their kayak. Sam is not a fan of spiders. I was also creeped out by creatures that creep and crawl, but also happy to be sore and sweaty and outdoors. That’s just kinda my thing.

October Fun Fact
We got a dog a month ago! His name is Chipper, and I cannot believe how much we all love him.
