A Note From Jody
When I saw this month’s topic I had to smile…no problem finding a photo for this topic because as I point out in my layout, I am surrounded by all things boy. I had a lot of photos to choose from and then I saw this group photo and knew it was the one.
With a busy photo like this (boys over the age of 5 will not coordinate their clothes I tell you!!) I decided to keep the layout nice and simple. As I was scanning through my accents I remembered that I had a tree die cut (from my new Epic 6) that made me think about the branches of a tree being similar to the branches of a family / family tree.
I added a photo of me to complete the connection about these men being in my life and I needed a little something extra to the right to help balance the layout and that is where the white rub-ons worked perfectly.
Journaling
I grew up with a sister in a house that saw more pink than blue. And then a very funny thing happened; as our family grew and expanded, the branches of our family began to fill up with boys…lots of boys. I have 2 boys (Oscar & Byron) my sister Nikki has 2 boys (Fletcher & Spencer), my cousin Selena has 3 boys (Angus, Lachlan & William) and my cousin Daniel has just had a new baby boy (Charlie). There are fathers (Gary) and grandfathers (Da) and a brother-in-law (Peter). I am surrounded by boys and I would not have it any other way. [Father’s Day 2009]
