we wanted to give you more. More Celeste. More inpsiration. More learning.
So this week we are excited to offer three of you a March subscription to
Get It Scrapped! at debbiehodge.com offers online classes and workshops. In addition to its regular lineup, Debbie Hodge has a series entitled Masterful Scrapbook Design. Offering a new lineup each month, students can subscribe to the series with one month subscriptions.
This month, at Masterful Scrapbook Design the focus topic is "Inspiration." We're spending the month getting specific about resources and methods for finding, gathering, and translating inspiration to the scrapbook page, by tackling the following areas of the topic:
about ideas and inspiration. Do ideas just “arrive” if you think hard enough? What’s the role of past experiences and inspiration from other sources? What are the aspects of a piece that can inspire?
finding and organizing inspiration. Explore the many sources there are for inspiration from your home's architecture to artwork techniques, clothing, entertainment, print and web media. What's more see the methods (digital and hard-copy) our teachers use for organizing inspiration pieces.
viewing an inspiration piece. Go beyond passive viewing of your inspiration pieces with the techniques described here for apprehending and translating inspiration to the page.
applying inspiration to the scrapbook page. Just as you can take inspiration from various elements of a piece, so, too, can you apply inspiration to individual elements of the page. We’ll look at titles, journaling, layout, photo treatments, and embellishments and how inspiration can be directly applied to them.
The materials include a written and audio seminar with work from paper and digital scrapbookers Anna Aspnes, Lisa Dickinson, Paula Gilarde, and Celeste Smith. The sources they turn to as well as their approaches to incorporating inspiration are varied and instructive -- and they will give you new ideas for mining the world around you for scrapbook page inspiration.
There are live webinars with each of the designers (available afterward in video, audio, and written transcript formats). Additionally, each of the designers contributes to an inspiration gallery of over 60 layouts that they've annotated with regard to their process.
Cost to subscribe is $10/30 days and includes a free e-class (Learn Design Principles that Grow Scrapbook Ideas), a 30+ page seminar, 4 video/audio interviews, guest teacher articles, and 60+ annotated layouts. If you are already subscribed and are chosen, we'll refund your money.
If you would like a chance to spend 30 days surrounded by instruction, knowledge, and of, course, inspiration, please leave us a comment telling us something that inspired you this week. Was it a hint of spring? something pretty you saw in a store window? a layout from the new gallery, perhaps??
Comments will remain open until 8:00 pm PST and three lucky numbers will be chosen at random and posted tomorrow. Please remember to check back before Saturday at midnight to see if you are one of the lucky numbers. Thank you for stopping by. As a thank you to Debbie Hodge for sponsoring out giveaway, please take a minute to check out Debbie's class lineup. March is a great time for learning something new!
