Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you are all enjoying summer as much as I am. Now that the nice weather has arrived, our family is trying to squeeze every activity under the sun in our two short summer months. With a full summer schedule, my camera has been working overtime. I hardly took any pictures this winter so I'm now making up for lost time! Having a busy summer means one thing: lots of layouts to scrap! Unfortunately, it also means that I don't have much time to scrap those layouts.
With pictures accumulating faster than I could scrap them, I came up with a solution: creating all my layouts using the same sketch for a month. It might sound b-o-r-i-n-g to some but for me this has been great because these days I scrap mostly to document our lives and not so much for creative purposes (gasp!). Here is the sketch I came up with for June:
It's a super simple sketch which also makes it very versatile. It's basically two photo blocks with one large title block and a split journaling block. I've already done two layouts with this sketch. For this first layout, I stuck to the sketch fairly closely:
For my second layout, I rotated the sketch and switched my title and journaling blocks. At first glance, it's difficult to see that this layout is based on the same sketch as the first:
So there you have it...a super simple summer scrapping solution (say that five times fast!). Do you have any simple solutions of your own to share? If so, please write about them in the comments section..I'm always looking for ways to simplify my scrapping process and I'm sure I'm not the only one!
