So glad you had a few minutes to share with me today. I'm Monika Wright and the whole Write. Click. Scrapbook. team thanks you for visiting with us this Summer, we know there are so many other things you could be doing. I don't know about you, but this has been the busiest Summer for our family that I can remember. Whew. And my goodness, our two girls ask me every day, "What are we doing today, Mommy?"
After hearing that same phrase every day since school let out on May 20th I knew that I wanted to come up with a project that might take some time to complete. And that's how this project came to mind.
How about a Color Scavenger Hunt? I think that sounds like fun. And to make it easy on myself, I used products from one manufacturer...paper, cardstock, stickers, die cuts, letters and rhinestones. Aaaaah, now that was easy, just what this Mommy's looking for.
I assembled the album and most of the front cover by myself. The girls chose what stickers, die cuts, rhinestones and layered embellishments they wanted to add to their inside pages. We had pretty good luck, too, only one time did I have to lift off the sticker and smooth it out...who wants a crinkly rainbow anyway?
I took one 12x12 piece of cardstock and trimmed it in half, one for each girl. I then folded each 6x12 piece up at the 8" mark to form the pocket. I used my sewing machine for the pockets, but you could also use your favorite adhesive. A 4x6 photo will slip perfectly inside the pocket.
Two girls. Two cameras. Two mini books. Let's have a look at the colors we'll be on the hunt for!
and... the end.
I'll be back August 8th sharing with you how the girls filled their pocket mini albums with photos and memorabilia and who knows what else. Hope you're having a great Summer!
