give.away.day. is so much fun, congrats to the Winner! I'm glad you're back today with me, Monika Wright, so that we can finish up our week long {my five senses} mini book project. Basically, you could say that your mini book is complete, but since we have some 6x6 papers and cardstock left from our goodies, I thought we could make an opening page as well as a closing page. Certainly not a must, but with the addition of these two pages, you'll add a polished look and feel to your project.
For my introduction page, I used the cardstock die cut embellishments that came with my mini book kit. I added the red and blue flower die cuts directly to my layout and added the rhinestone to dot the i. The green and blue scroll embellishment is actually adhered to the top of the page protector, which comes with the kit as well, with pop dots. I added a rhinestone to the center of this die cut as well.
The closing page has another die cut flower and more rhinestones as embellishments. I'll add some journaling to this page, following the hand-drawn line around the perimeter of the layout, and the {my five senses} mini book project will be complete.
For the crafters who prefer scrapbooking layouts over mini books, you can still document your five senses with fabulous results. Use the worksheet to gather your thoughts and just dive in, getting your memories down now and then create at your leisure.
Although I had scraps left from my mini book kit that I could have used, the Simply Perfect Page Kit from Momenta would be an excellent starting point. Add some cardstock to the mix and you have plenty of embellishments to complete at least 10 layouts.
I don't generally use kits, so it was a refreshing change to pull out the patterned papers and let myself be guided by the coordinating puffy stickers, die cut mat, frames & tags, bubbles & bling, alphabets, messages & icon paper stickers. I may just have to rethink my stand on kits.
I'll be sure to upload layouts to the Write.Click.Scrapbook. Flickr group and I hope that you'll share your projects from this week as well.
Thanks, as always, for hanging around with me this week and for your kind comments on the mini book project this week. If you have any questions at all, here's my contact info, I'd be happy to help.
