Welcome to 2012! Are you ready for the next 12 months of creativity? My hope for this week is to help you to set up some goals and plans for your projects for the year. In the last few years I've found that I need to have a general plan for my scrapbooking year in order to get my stories down and told. Nothing as specific as a number of pages to complete (although I have done that in the past), but more of an intention for the year, and a plan of how to acheive that. I came across this quotation recently which really embodies this idea.
The first thing I start with is my One Little Word. I'm sure many of you are familiar with this concept as explained by Ali Edwards. In a nutshell you choose one word to guide you during the year. My word for 2012 is Action. It's not too late to choose a word for 2012! I only decided on my word yesterday. Take a little time to read Ali's posts about her words over the years. Her 2012 post can be found here. If you're unsure about a word, try reading the comments over readers left on her post talking about their words. It just might trigger something for you. Ali also offers a One Little Word class all year long at Big Picture Classes. You can read more about that here.
I chose Action as my word this year because last year I had many plans and ideas that never came to fruition. This year I need to get moving on all of those! During the rest of the week I will talk about goals and plans for photography and scrapbooking, and point you towards some ideas for projects you might want to tackle this year.
Have you chosen a One Little Word for 2012? If not, do you think you will now? What are some of your scrapbooking goals this year? Let me know in the comments below.
Before I sign off today I leave you with these words from Neil Gaiman.
