I love kits and have for some time now so I was very excited to play with the Studio Calico kit for this mini album.
We recently took our family on a cruise to the Bahamas for our Christmas vacation instead of staying home in the cold. I knew as soon as mini month was mentioned that I would turn these photos into an album. And the fact that they are getting scrapped before the next Christmas? That's huge!
I had several photos printed off to wallet sized and decided to go full Studio Calico and use a small journal kit I had in my stash. I used the smaller 5" X 5" embossed album.
When I opened my kit I first fell in love with some of the bolder colors against the more neutrals as well. I had a bit of product in my stash from the March add on kits and included those in making my album too.
I decided to paint over the embossed cover with some brown paint then layered tags (from my stash). I misted the title with Mister Huey Heirloom Blue and liked the way it popped against the other elements. I finished it off with a neutral fabrip on the binding.
I have worked with these Pink Paislee Mistables before and I must say that although I was scared of them at first, I now absolutely love them!
Although I disassembled the inside of the album, I used the graph pages as a base. The tiny Dear Lizzy alphas were perfect for this size of album for small titles and added color.
And that's my mini about our wonderful trip! Looking forward to more trips and more mini albums!
A big thank you to Studio Calico for generously letting us play with one of their great kits!
