Hi everyone! Paula here with today's mini album creating from a kit of my own making! I'm not a big kit purchaser, but I am a fan of using coordinated lines when creating layouts, mini albums and even cards. Coordinated lines take the guess work out of selecting products. My personal favorites include lines that have a wide color scheme with a variety of colors - I find that there's nothing harder than having to work with a selection of papers that only have two colors!
For my "kit" I selected a few papers from the Ruby Rock-It Nostalgia line. I picked three for my "kit" but I ended up only using two of them. I also picked coordinating stickers (with alphas), some chipboard embellishments and some banner strips.I also included one sheet of cardstock to use for my base.
I decided to create a 4x4 inch accordion album out of my sheet of cardstock by cutting it into three, 4 inch strips, adhering them together and accordion folding at 4 inch intervals.
I decided to go with a fair theme because of the papers I had selected:
I printed my photos at 3x4 so that I could fit one on a 4x4 page (and so I could print two on a 4x6 print).
The album came together very quickly because of the coordinated elements. I was thrilled when I finished this mini because I've had these photos sitting around for a year waiting to be scrapped - I think I had too many photos for one layout but they weren't that great that they all deserved individual layouts.
I hope this gives you some ideas for mini albums and making kits from your stash!
