Hi everyone! Summer is wrapping up for our family and we are getting ready to fall back into the swing of school schedules, activities and the like. Fortunately, I still have plenty of pictures from our recent beach vacations to reminisce over and get onto layouts and into mini albums. We have taken several trips to the beach this summer and as I started thinking about what I wanted to blog about today I decided it would be super fun to document an entire trip on one layout. I'm usually much more of one or maybe two picture per layout kind of gal, but every once in a while I love to throw caution to the wind and do something kind of crazy!! Anyone else like to live on the wild side???
I knew I wanted to use quite a few pictures from our trip. I thought about printing them onto photo paper, but I really didn't want to use up a ton of my ink and paper just for one layout. Instead, I printed all of my photos on plain old printer paper and then trimmed them out. There were a lot of contrasting colors in my pictures (blue pool water, green bathing suits, pink bathing suits, etc...) so I opted to print them all in black and white. Plus, I kind of love black and white photos.
Once they were trimmed, I placed them randomly onto my 12x12 card stock. There really was no rhyme or reason to where they ended up. Sometimes it's fun to not overthink things, you know! I used my hot glue gun to adhere them to my card stock. I simply put a small dab of hot glue right in the middle of the back of my photo. I liked the "movement" the edges had rather than adhering them completely down.
When I first decided to create a page using lots of black and white photos I knew I wanted to use these awesome transparent letters from the Crate Paper The Pier collection. I love how you could still see little bits of the pictures behind the letters and since my page was covered with photos I wanted something that was a little transparent.
And here is a look at my page with my title "Summer Days" in place. (I used hot glue to attach the letters to my page). This very well may be my favorite layout. Ever. Just looking at it takes me back to the beach!!
Thanks so much for joining me today!! I hope you have an awesome day!!
