With every moment, story, and photo we record there is a layer absent in our books--sound. Creat-a-Memory albums fill that void.
Creat-A-Memory is a company that produces leather scrapbooks that allow you to record anything you would like to accompany your pages. Genius, no? We were thrilled to get to try them out and see how it worked.
The albums come in two sizes, 12x12 and 12x9. The bonded leather has a nice sturdy textured feel. The pages are white and ready to be background pages. (There are plastic pages in between the two page spreads.) There are 20 pages per album.
And now for the magic. With a recording device inside, you can record a message for each two page spread, with up to 10 minutes of audio allowed for each album. Once you have recorded the messages for the page spreads, the recordings play back automatically when you open to that page. Cool, no?
We felt the instructions were easy to follow and the recording part was totally doable. The sound was clear and had good volume. We did like the sound better when we spoke closer to the microphone. Also, the microphone is decent enough to pick up some background noise, so we might suggest recording in a quiet room without noise bounce.
Our favorite part (besides the obvious having live voice!) was that the pages played automatically, and didn't need to be read in order. Whichever page you open up to plays, just like that. What a treasure.
