Welcome to Day 2 of Stamp Week.
Today I'm going to share some cardmaking ideas. I love cards! When I first started scrapbooking 10 years ago there was a magazine called Memory Makers. They had a weekend retreat called Camp Memory Makers that came to Valley Forge, PA, which is about 20 minutes from where I live. In one of the classes the project was a layout and a card. The teacher explained that when you were finished scrapping you should go ahead and make a card. The supplies are all out, it all coordinates, the papers are cut. What a great idea! All I needed was a set of sentiment stamps - Happy Birthday, Thank You. Hah! I've got a few more stamp sets than that, and stamping techniques to make a card can be as simple or as advanced as you want them to be.
This one is as simple as you can get. A sentiment stamped in black ink and added to a card made with patterned papers, sequins, and a fancy brad.
Here is a masculine card. The seal stamp was cut out with a circle punch and mounted on a pinked circle die cut.
For this one I used my favorite Tim Holtz Movers and Shakers Hearts dies to cut this row of hearts from a variety of materials and then added a sentiment that spans across the front of the card.
And from Christina. This is a very clean and simple design with enamel dots as embellishments.
Lisa made this one with a calendar stamp. A great way to commemorate a special day!
And she remembered stamp and sign the back of her card (I always forget about this!)
Lisa made a background with a simple outline circle stamp and paints and then used alphabet stamps for the sentiment.
Lisa used paints to color in this arrow stamp and then used her own handwriting on the painted strips below.
Diane made this super sweet Halloween card with rows of stamped pumpkins.
The last few I'm going to share are Christmas cards. Christmas is right around the corner! For this one I used scraps to make the tree, then stamped the snowflakes and sentiment on the card base.
This tree was also made from scraps with some adhesive gems as the ornaments.
For this one I used the Tim Holtz Carved Ornaments die to cut the ornament from white cardstock. Then I heat embossed the pattern with silver embossing powder and used Ranger Fired Brick Distress Ink and a foam blending tool to color the ornament. Heat embossing is my favorite stamping technique, and I'll be talking more about it tomorrow.
