Welcome to Click. Saturday!
I thought about what I would write about this month and looked back on the last few gallery themes we have had:
- Everydailies (May)
- Ten Things (July)
- and the latest theme A Day in the Life...
Do you see the common thread? Yes, everyday photos. I have seen a shift in scrapbookers photography to be more everyday activities/subjects rather than portraits or even holidays. I have seen more and more phone photography show up in our scrapbooking projects and therefore I will link back to a few older articles on the subject.
In January of 2012 I gave you the challenge to capture today in your photos. The everyday things that make today special.
In February 2012 I wrote about a cool photo project where you would follow a child or other family member during a day and compile those photos into one collage-like project.
Again in March the same year, I gave you a challenge to go shoot the things you love most (not including humans).
See three months in a row the theme was different angles of everyday photos!
This year you can look back on these posts for example;
Christa wrote a great post on the subject in April 2013. She writes: I like portrait style photography as much as the next scrapbooker, but my eye is always more drawn to the photos of us living life and what we're doing at a certain point in our lives. I prefer to take a step back and take photographs that my family doesn't even know are happening because I don't get crazy smiles or faces! I encourage you to take that step back with your zoom lens and snap away at those people and places in your lives.
I wrote about phonephotography more specific in July. Giving some tips on how to get better pictures with your phone.
Aliza did a post on making the mundane fun and beautiful in her post in May 2013. No matter where you live, there will probably be times when the scenery you see everyday will feel a little ordinary, but perhaps with a little change in perspective, and a camera in your hands, you can discover something new. And that is something that we scrapbookers are good at; finding beauty and meaning in our everyday mundane surroundings.
So, today go back and read a bit about taking photos everyday, it seems we are doing it :)
And before I leave you on this beautiful day, I have a question. What would you like to read about here on Click. Saturdays? Is there a topic that you are struggling with or need more inspiration for? We would LOVE to hear, please share in the comments!
Have a great day!
