Hi again! Lisa here with my second post of December dailies. I don´t know about you, but sometimes I lack gift boxes. You know those small gifts that are a bit hard to wrap when you don´t get a box at the shop, or as in my case, when you are making a few homemade gifts. So I searched online for a good tutorial on how to make easy gift boxes myself. I found this one.
They are super easy to make! Wanna see? Let´s do it!
Ok, so in that link above, they use paper plates, but I wanted to use some of my patterned papers for this so I traced a circle with a plate. I also decided to cut the circle out with a wave patterned pair of sissors. That will make the upper edge wavy.
So after this, you will want to draw a square in the middle of the circle. This will be your base for the box. The larger the square, the larger the base and lower sides. Since I needed a smaller box I didn´t make the sqare large.
Also draw a line from each of the sqaures corners. See above.
Next get your sissors and cut each of the lines all the way to the where the square begin.
Now it is time to fold your sides up. This is a little hard to explain, but when you are sitting there doing the steps it will make sense (I hope). If you look at the photo above you see on the right how I folded up the flap. Now fold that in against the square and fold the lower flap (in the photo) up so it will back the right one.
When you feel like you´ve got it right, put glue on the flap that will go on the outside of the other so the box will look something like this one. You can either glue down the overlapping paper or do as I did, just cut it off!
Your box is ready and you can play around and embellish them with ribbon, washi or anything else in your stash. I put my little gift inside and added tissue paper on top.
Please note that I am NOT a tutorial writer and know that you can ask for more instructions if this makes no sense ;)
Happy Holidays!
