Hi everyone, Diane here sharing another mini album with the beautiful Gossamer Blue March kit. It included a great selection of papers from Chickaniddy Crafts (including their fabulous gold foil paper), Webster Pages, Gossamer Blue exclusive papers, My Mind's Eye and more. It also featured some fun charms, an assortment of stickers, twine, enamel stickers, chipboard alpha, some fabulous exclusive printables and cut files and a small gold ink pad.
I loved the soft girly colors which inspired me to create a mini album using a handful of some favorite photos of my daughter from a couple years ago.
The Cover
For the cover, I cut two pieces of chipboard and covered them with fabric. Once the fabric was secured in place I sewed a ribbon to the front and back of the album to hold the front and back together and also used to tie the album closed.
The title was inspired by the fun March themed "Lucky" cut file included with kit. I placed it along the bottom and embellished the white space at the top of my photo with a string of garland made from the gold foil paper and cream/gold string.
Inside Pockets
The inside pages are stored inside envelope pockets. I sealed each envelope and then cut one end open. I stacked the envelopes together, with the open end facing out and glued them together so they would open like an accordian. To finish it off, I glued the inside of the album cover to the top envelope and glued the inside of the back cover to the bottom envelope.
Page Inserts
I had a total of six pocket envelopes, so I cut six pieces of paper slightly smaller than the size of the envelopes and used those for the base of each photo. To complete each page, I layered patterned paper, stickers, enamel stickers, and die cuts. I also adhered a piece of paper or die cut extended from the edge of each base to use as a tab to make it easier to pull the page out of the pocket.
I had already created a couple layouts with stories about my daughter using two of these photos so this album was perfect for simply showcasing some favorite photos.
