So here we are together on our final day of color week. I am sorry that it has been such a tricky one with the site up and down. And I thank you for being here in spite of the circumstances.
I have been reminded this week of how much I love color. It's one of the things that I have always loved about scrapbooking. I love putting them together. And seeing how they help create the right mood. Big happy sigh!
Today's color is blue. The final one on the 5 color rainbow. Here is a bit about blue.
Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.
Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect. Blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness. In heraldry, blue is used to symbolize piety and sincerity.
You can use blue to promote products and services related to cleanliness (water purification filters, cleaning liquids, vodka), air and sky (airlines, airports, air conditioners), water and sea (sea voyages, mineral water). As opposed to emotionally warm colors like red, orange, and yellow; blue is linked to consciousness and intellect. Use blue to suggest precision when promoting high-tech products.
Blue is a masculine color; according to studies, it is highly accepted among males. Dark blue is associated with depth, expertise, and stability; it is a preferred color for corporate America.
Avoid using blue when promoting food and cooking, because blue suppresses appetite. When used together with warm colors like yellow or red, blue can create high-impact, vibrant designs; for example, blue-yellow-red is a perfect color scheme for a superhero.
Light blue is associated with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness.
Dark blue represents knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness.

I wear blue jeans nearly every day. Navy is one of my best friends. And I haven't yet met a shade of blue I don't love. I have touches of blue in everyone's bedrooms. Be it navy, sky, or turquoise. It's calming. Soothing.
Or can be electric--I even wore blue eyeshadow the other day. (Welcome back to the 70s!)
I think of blue as a lovely backdrop. A perfect dance partner. It goes with everything. And it is happy to be in the back row so that they other colors can shine. I guess that's part of what I love about it. I think it's why I use it so often on my pages. It's easy and perfect and because there are so many blues to choose between, I can always find a great match.
Blue and red. True love.
Denim blue and green. Stormy sky and trees. Nature made it perfect. I just borrowed it.
Navy grounds the rainbow.
Sky blue is true peace.
Is this one blue or green? Either way it's lovely.
One of my favorite ways to use blue is with blue graph or grid paper.
There's nothing like a whole spectrum of blues to go together.
Lately, I've been drawn to the bluer blues. It must be a trendy thing. It's not my usual shade. Though they certainly are everywhere. Especially with the big comeback of denim!
I hope that you have had a fun week! I hope that you have spent some time looking through your layouts, too. It's good for us to celebrate our hard work and to get lost in the stories we are preserving!
Thank you, always, for taking the time to come by!
