So it is nearly the middle of June. With the exception of some good Canadian schools, nearly everyone is out of school. And celebrating the laziness of summer! This week, I was the exception--I spent all week spring cleaning. I know. Months late. But winter ran so long around here that spring never really came. And consequently, the essential spring cleaning never happened either. Until now.
With all the dust I kicked up vacuuming under beds and rearranging furniture to free up the vents for the air conditioning to blow upstairs, I had little scrapbooking time. Lucky for us, we have a new sketch this week!
This week our sketch comes from Carey's layout.
And here is the sketch.
Oh, I love Carey's pages and how she is able to get more than one photo per page with such fluidity. We all know how that is a struggle for me, so having a Carey sketch makes it all possible.
I stretched out two photos into horizontals so that I could use these four photos. And with four, rather than three, I had to choose which one to make a photo. I moved the six "blocks" around and around, but eventually settled on this arrangement.
Mmm. She is yummy! And I love my page--thank you Carey!
Aliza and Celeste both created 12 x 12 layouts from the sketch.
I love how Aliza moved the six blocks to the lower right hand corner. Remember that things weighted to the bottom take on a more serious side. Perfect for Aliza's page.
Celeste's page has all six centered and even which makes each block equally weighted. This means your eye will stop at each one indivdually to check it out.
Kate also made great use of the sketch. Look how she created an 8.5 x 11 layout.
To include her horizontal rectangle, she added a square and lost a vertical rectangle, allowing her to keep the square grid effect of the original sketch. It's the perfect adjustment. Oh, how I love Kate's little touches. And that little Lucy smile is dreamy!!

I hope that you enjoy the sketch and that it helps you make a layout or two! Happy Saturday!
