Hello! It's Jennifer Larson with some ideas for how to journal your favorite things about summer. I will be hosting the next few days and will show you how I am building a page from the journaling on up.
After this winter's polar vortex, I am so excited for warm weather that I decided to make a page about why I love summer. Here are some ideas for how to start this sort of page yourself:
1. Start by making a list.Take five minutes and don't think, just write down as many ideas pop into your head. My list: Gardening, campfires, hiking and biking and running, swimming outdoors, my husband grilling, fireflies, baseball games, visiting the Sculpture Garden, shorts and sandals.
2. Think about the senses. We tend to think of the sights more than the tastes, smells, feelings, and sounds of summer. Thinking about senses other than sight, I would have to add the smell of cilantro, the sound of frogs at night, the taste of grilled corn, and the feeling of the warm morning air as I go for a run.
3. Revisit your scrapbooks for ideas. Going back through your scrapbooks will give you ideas that you haven't yet included that you love about summer. For me, I have to add camping with friends at new state parks, watching my boys play outside, and eating ice cream outdoors.
Now that you've journaled a page about what you love about summer, you are ready to think about photos. Come back tomorrow to see how I go about photographing your summer loves.
