Hello and welcome back! Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day. Ours was filled to the brim with Greek food from our annual Greek Festival, and a final visit to the pool. For us, indeed summer is drawing to a close. The weather is still warm, the skies still blue, the trees still green, but somehow once we round the corner from Labor Day, the autumn season just seems to magically declare itself.
Today, your photography assignment is to grab your camera and take a photo of something that truly represents the close of summer. For me, this was easy to decide. It's the stacking of the pool chairs. As the numbers fade throughout the day, the lifeguards begin to stack the chairs and swab the deck. As the sun sets, and the stacks grow, there is a swell of closure that fills my heart. Being there at the end is a custom that allows me to revel in the laughter and sunshine of summer and then quietly acknowledge its end, knowing that the sun will rise in the morning on a new season. Here is my photo.
I thought I might as well go ahead and put it on a layout. The photo was already edited... :) and the journaling was mostly done... so it seemed so easy!
I hope you have fun with your photos! Please let us know if you take a pic or two!
