Hi there! I am so happy to be back with the weeklong themes! Our team (Jennifer H, Becca and me) is up first and we are doing all Pinterest inspired posts. This is how we did it: we all found one pin and are blogging about our own projects made with that pin as inspiration. Then as a little extra, we made something inspired by the other's pin also. I like to see how we all interpret different things from the same piece!
I, Lisa, am going first! Here is the pin that I picked.
It makes my heart go pitterpatter when I see the fun colors and the outlined ink. I knew that I wanted to use the letters as my inspiration and I made 2 layouts.
As you see I used the cut out letters and outline as my main inspiration. I don't have a die cutting machine, so I handcut the letters. I don't mind; I like it as therapy! I found some fun and colorful patterned papers to match my daughter's mood in these selfies. What is up with teens and selfies by the way?! Haha! Anyway she is a selfie queen! Rather than just using a collage of the four photos, I used my sewing machine to make a grid for the photos.
As I had adhered the letters and used a fine pen to make the outlines. I don't mind the lines being uneven one bit, I like it!
Here is the second layout I made. I wanted to show you how fun the cut out letters can be with a more cohesive color palette. I jumped in my scraps basket looking for different yellow papers and spelled out the word sunflower in this quote I found. It worked perfectly with the new photos I took at the sunflower field a few weeks ago!
Here is just a closer look.
Jennifer made this digital layout using my pin as inspiration. I love how she used those fun upper case letters! So colorful and fun.
Thank you for stopping by today!
