Hello lovies! Only one more day 'til turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and punkin' pie. Oh my! I hope you will be spending the holiday with the ones you love and counting all your blessings.
I don't know about you but I'm a bit sad to see autumn come to an end. There are so many things to love about the fall season but first on my list is pumpkins! Pumpkins give me the warm fuzzies. The color, the smell...pumpkin everything makes me happy. It goes without saying that my favorite place on Earth (besides Disney) is a pumpkin patch!
Since my daughter has been about three, she and I have visited a pumpkin patch every year and loved every minute. Most years, we have gone to more than one! I'm sad to say we broke our favorite autumn tradition this year and didn't go at all and we both regret it greatly!!! Next fall, it will be first on my list of must-do moments.
As you can imagine, I have a backlog of pumpkin patch photos to scrap so I looked through my photo drawer and found some I had printed at Snapfish a couple years ago. I was on a photo printing kick for a while and actually got caught up with all my printing! I made the good decision at printing time to get a few of the pictures from this outing done in 2x3, printed four up on a 4x6 print. I laid them out next to the 4x6 close up of my daughter and the design practically worked itself out from there.
I happened to have the latest Noel Mignon kit on my desk and saw that the Simple Stories paper had 2x2 cut apart squares so I worked out a design and put it all together on some cardstock (just as a base to glue it to). Then I used this awesome Simple Stories striped paper for the background. I used another piece of Simple Stories for a green border strip, a bit of blue Echo Park for my journaling spot, added a Simple Stories chipboard word for the title and voila....pumpkin patch page perfected.
I love how the 2x2 squares perfectly balance the 2x3 pictures. I often buy Simple Stories squares like this so I'll definitely be using this design again and again. I'm adding it to my list of "go-to designs."
Now let's see, I think I am down to about 10 more pumpkin patch trips to scrap. Yikes. I might have to do a massive pocket page spread with a combination of a few different years. We'll see. At least this one's fun and done!
